Bowie is a healthy, neutered 9½-year-old, 15-lb dapple dachshund looking for a quiet home. Once he trusts you, he’s incredibly loyal, affectionate, cuddly, and loves treats and being close to his people.
His ideal home is one or two experienced adults with no children, other pets, or frequent visitors.
Bowie has fear-based reactivity/aggression toward strangers and a past bite history involving strangers only. He has not had a bite in many years. He has never bitten his primary caregivers. His behavior is well controlled with separation from unfamiliar guests.
He is house-trained (outside or pee pads), healthy and vaccinated. His current owner will continue covering his annual vet exam, vaccines, and trazodone.
He was surrendered only because of his caregiver’s health issues.
