Rico is a 5-year-old BEAUTIFUL Dachshund who
is a loving, affectionate little dog who enjoys being close to his people. Snuggling is one of his favorite things to do, but he also has a playful side and loves playing fetch with his squeaky toys and small balls. He enjoys daily walks around the neighborhood, spending time outdoors, and relaxing in the sunshine. Rico is also very food-motivated and never turns down a treat.
Rico is house-trained and is up to date on all of his vaccinations. He does not enjoy being in the crate, and confinement tends to increase his separation anxiety. NO CRATES! He will bark and become anxious when left alone, so he would benefit from a home that understands separation anxiety and is willing to work with him using patience and positive reinforcement.
Rico is good with children, but we believe he would thrive in a calm, adult-only home where he can enjoy a quieter environment and receive plenty of one-on-one attention. He does not get along well with other male dogs or large dogs and would likely do best as the only dog in the home OR with a compatible SMALL FEMALE dog if introduced appropriately.
